GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) ? The Mississippi Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo returned to Gulfport over the weekend and participants and businesses were glad to see it back.
Director Mike Ernst of Gulfport told The Clarion-Ledger that the time since the storm has been a ?seven-year road trip.?
And angler Richard Grimstead said he?s happy the event has been re-established in Gulfport.
Ernst said he?s looking forward to growth for the tournament, which took place at the Barksdale Pavilion. He said he?s hoping that once attendance is figured for this year it will hit 10,000. Last year it was 8,000.
